From Milan to Sydney, one tile at a time.
Davide Torriglia landed in Sydney from Milan in November 2012 with almost no English and no idea what moving to the other side of the world would really mean. What followed was a run of very different jobs — pizza kitchens, pool maintenance — before he made a deliberate choice to go back to the trade he already knew: tiling.
He worked alongside Italian tilers first, then Australian crews, completed the training the local system required, and earned his licence in New South Wales. From there, Milano Tiling & Waterproofing grew job by job — today working mainly across Eastern Suburbs & Inner West, Sydney NSW.

“The beginning is slow, it takes years, but if you work well, the work speaks for you.”
— Davide Torriglia
The same process, every time.
A conversation, not a quote form
Call or email with what you have in mind. Davide will ask a few questions and arrange a time to see the space in person.
Waterproof and prepare properly
Substrates are levelled and membrane is built up to AS 3740 before anything is tiled — the part of the job that decides how well the rest holds up.
Tile, finish, and check the details
Falls, lippage, grout lines and silicone runs are checked as the job goes, not just at handover.

Qualified for the parts of the job you can’t see.

- Waterproofing carried out to AS 3740, the Australian Standard for wet areas
- Public liability insurance held for all work on-site
